More people die on the Texas/Mexican border every year than died during the Vietnam War every year.

Kidnap rates are higher than in the worst parts of the Middle East.

Busloads of Mexican civilians are being stopped, the men killed, the women raped and the teens forced to fight and kill each other.

Gangs are out of control and are armed with US guns.

The list goes on and on.

i find that hard to believe, but then that sentence is difficult to understand.

the US dropped more bombs on vietnam than all the bombs that were dropped during WW2 (this includes both the axis and the allies)

Atrocity-wise it's as bad as a real war. Every couple of weeks there's new or videos of decapitated heads or videotaped decapitation. Armed squads targeting children's birthdays and weddings. A whole generation of women in Juarez slaughtered for fun. Makes the human sacrifice of the Aztecs seem almost trivial.

its pretty sick though, the US turns a blind eye, since they pretty much supply these people with the weapons, money and power to do all this. all the while reaping the benefits. occupy juarez!

dropping bombs on jungles isn't the same as dropping them on cities.

i can't find the original article that made the comparison unfortunately.

if you look at the vietnam death toll for us soldiers, the most that died in 1 year was less than 17,000.

from what i can find, more than 40,000 people have been killed by mexican drug cartels in recent years.

that's not too far off from the vietnam body count in terms of US soldiers.

i'm still looking for the original article where i read the comparison.
