pet stools

i was told by a pet specialist that an animal is healthy if the stools are hard and sticky. do you agree or disagree with this?

I guess I agree with it. obviously diarrhea isn't good. my dog was eating grass the other day, so i've been picking up grassy poo. in fact, I had to pull a grassy turd out of his ass this afternoon because he couldn't pinch it out.

There's only been about 10 or so times I've closed my eyes while watching a movie. This was and still is one of those moments.

humans are animals too. if our poop is hard and sticky it's a sign of good health.

don't dogs (and cats) have some type of anal glands? i heard firm/hard stool helps the glands secrete the fluid in these glands. if the stool is too soft, then the fluids don't come out and build up. and that's when you or your vet or your dog groomer have to manually secrete the fluid.

or you can just let your dog drag its ass on your carpet.

it's the little dogs mostly that have that problem. they've been bred into shapes that don't allow that to happen naturally. in "normal" sized dogs, pinching a loaf causes those glands to be squeezed and the fluids within are secreted.

I agree with your post, same the idea was in my mind, anyhow hope it is done and no need to further elaborate it.
