free beer, what an ingenious concept! If I ever became prime-minister of Canada, I shall declare free beer for all....who voted for me.

someone mention beer?

i'm an enthusiastic belgian beer novice, and i must recommend the upcoming belgian beer festival at lucky baldwin's in pasadena feb 15 - mar 4. went last year and tried about 12 different belgians (arg, i can't remember...), most you would be hard pressed to find on a regular basis, even at lucky's.

..just got off the phone with the lucky baldwin's gal, and she said they are looking at 56 belgians on tap and hundreds more in bottle form for this year's fest. woo hoo!

when i hit lucky's the rest of the year, i usually get what's available; i'm fond of delirium nocturne, leffe blond, hoegaarden, la fin du monde, duvel. but trying stuff you've never heard of is a lot of fun, and that's what this festival is all about.

damn, that's some list..

gotta say my mouth just doesn't "understand" most samuel adams, but i haven't tried the three that you mention; maybe i'll give it a go next time.

chances are, though, that when i walk into a pub, i find myself looking at a pint of guinness nine times out of ten. can't stant most places that serve it way too cold...

DOPE!! wonki, thanks for the info, i definitely want to go to this. i too am a belgian beer enthusiast...it was a lot easier to find it when i lived in nyc (of course, it was also easier to make it home bombed out of my mind).

randall or anyone else in OC, have you checked out this store "hi time" in costa mesa? beer selection (& the whole place actually) looks pretty sweet, i'm going to stop there when i'm out that way in a couple of weeks. this is just a list of the imports: (!!)

http://www.hitimewine.com/beer_list_2.htm

hoping they still have scaldis noel (my fave belgian xmas beer) and samichlaus (not belgian but OFF THE FUCKING HOOK) in stock when i get there...

1) I love beer. (Mmm, sometimes; mmmm, most of the time. ok.)

2) I love a good lager, but I cannot fuckin' pick one. Variety is the spice and all. I guess if I could drink actual draft lagers all the time and I had money and shit, hell yeah, but...

3) I'm kinda po' ass. Even when I'm not nearly broke, I'm still a cheap penny pinching prick, so...

4) FOSTERS 12 PACK, MOTHERFUCKER. On sale, bitches! $8.99! Fuck it, I'm drunk! It's good with muthafuckin frozen Pizza!!!!!
