I put down a GIANT bottle of Chimay for my b-day, and then followed it with a PBR (peeber) tallboy. How's that for Kwality?

i tell everyone my favorite is Steel Reserve so they think i'm crazy. The best is when you find a tall can that still has the giant "99cents" sticker on it. It makes it look even more classy.

I'm a new beer drinker, admittedly. Here are my faves so far:

Trois Pistoles
Leopold Bros. Schwarz (local Ann Arbor brewery/distillery/bar)
Newcastle

I really haven't tried too many beers...I don't mind Heinekens, but I find that I really prefer the darker beers over pale ales and whatnot. Any suggestions? It's appreciated!

Belgian seems to be getting all the love but don't ignore British/Scottish pub culture. You can throw the Irish into that bag too....

Boddingtons
Kilkenny
Smithwicks
Tetleys (no not the tea silly)
Caffreys (I have some in the fridge, which gets a Marv Albert "Yes" in my books)
Newcastle
Hacker Pschorr
Amsterdam (local brew in Toronto)
Strongbow (ok not exactly a beer beer, but yo I love this shit...an acquired taste)

And the most important but often neglected point. Get the proper pint glass for each beer, it pains me to see people drink it out of the bottle or shudder the thought, a can. For instance you need a wide mouth glass for Hooegarden to bring out the aroma......Which leads to another hobby, collecting pint glasses.

I am not a fan of Stella at all, but it seems to be the hip import choice of the past few years. I can't drink more than one because they're incredibly gassy, you get that I need to burp but can't feeling all the time.

yep. i've only been there once. but great place...

i think seriously though, the best bars i've been to for beer were all in austin.

i like randall's list. young and sam smith are probably some of my favorite. but you are missing yebisu - like sapporo but with flavor - and some of the very best:

HITACHINO NEST RED RICE ALE & SWEET STOUT!

it was $5

I found six packs of Guiness for only $5 at Food 4 Less. Picked some up this past weekend. my buddy picked up a case of pacifico's for $10.

Good beer at good prices.
