Okay, I should have taken care of this 3 years ago. Over my parking spot in my apartment building is a rusty off, leaky pipe, and it's been dripping rusty water on my hood, leaving little spots. If I scratch it with a key, it kind of comes off, and the paint beneath looks undamaged.
What's the ideal solution for getting this shit off? I've tried dish soap and an abrasive sponge, it didn't work well. Suggestions?

abrasive sponge? key? sounds like you did more damage than the rusty water. hahah.
go to your local auto parts store and pick up a clay bar and some wax. the clay bar will help rub out the stains. next, use the wax to add a protective layer. |

^ Hehe. No, I was making sure I didn't hurt the paint. I think the paint job is fine beneath the rust build up.
So I've been starting to put a box over the hood when it's parked there to protect it from more rusty spots. So I don't need the wax? Just use the clay bar to scrub the spots off?

Spray some spray wax or other lubricant around the stained area. then rub the clay bar over it to absorb the nasties.
Then pick up some college girls and tell them that you're casting for a reality show about a bikini co-ed car wash run by donald trump. Then leave a piece of cardboard over the spot, or stop parking there, or have the leak fixed. why are you still parking there???? |

Saw a new M3 yesterday. Didn't know they were officially out.
Looks okay, maybe it'll grow on me but I'm kinda indifferent towards it now.

Yes. Clay Bar. Best detailing product in the history of the world, ever.
Clay bar will pull impurities and embedded microscopic particles out of a brand new vehicle's paint that you didn't even know were there. It is the best. Just wax that shit when ur done.

Although somewhat derivative of the Dogvan in "Dumb and Dumber", Catbus is awesome! I wonder if the eyes light up when you turn on the headlamps. Nearlly killed myself last night. When I floored it to pass a vehicle on the highway, the edge of my gas pedal got stuck full-throttle underneath the lip of my floormat. I was weaving all over the place and nearly rearended a car before I could reach down and yank the gas pedal back. Good grief! |

This question may seem really unnecessary but...
Okay, so I think the battery on my remote is dying. Is it just a matter of unscrewing the casing and replacing the battery, or will there by some kind of programming involved? I ask because I googled this topic and saw some stuff about re-programming.
