to answer your question, i sucked. or in my opinion i was awful.
but i guess i was jus one of those guys, like all the drawing assignments and projects went to one of three guys and a gal in my school. i didnt get great grades but i would always win out on these school jobs. the thing was that when i lived in detroit i was pretty much a graffitti guy, then i moved to farmington and they taught me to look more. they gave me new tools, and even some encouragement. then all of a sudden i couldnt get enough, at 15 i was goin to the strip club to do figure studies, then i stumbled upon dynamic lighting, and soon after that all i was drawing was portaits of old lechuress men with the nasty gleem in their eyes. i even won that award in school where they give you like a gold pendant, its at gradution, i was really surprised.
in highschool i was poop, in my opinion. but at that age thats what they wanted. i never looked at a job as a job, its always been a time where i can learn new tricks an explore more. i guess maybe that was it, all my contemporaries at school and now dont want to get better, and in the end i always think i suck and i need to keep workin, and keep seein.

sorry bout the essay.

well i hope that answered your question.
good hunting.

peace

Your portfolio is really good. For that model did you use Maya?
Did you come up with those character deigns yourself or did you copy from a different illustrator. They look pretty original though.

one of my best friends wants to get into video game design like you but it's tuff.
