Okay. .

I have an old Nvidia card, and am currently running XP. Here's what happens, if and when I shut my 'puter down, for say. . more than 20 mins - the friggin vid drivers VANISH! WTF!?

Example: I shut down for the night, boot next morning - and the colors are fine - yes. However, I have to reinstall the video drivers in order to watch video fine and scroll correctly.

Any ideas, beyond the fact that XP blow-shizzles?

question for the citrix gurus...

i set up apps to be shared from the server. i specifically set the priviledges to domain users but only admin users can run it. why is this happening?

Yikes, MLL... I dunno... have you tried both the NVIDIA reference drivers as well as your manufacturer-specific ones? Barring that, see if you can update directx perhaps... It sounds like one of those situations where Windows just wants to act fucking stupid. REINSTALL BABY

You simply have to untie the device string from your logic hole. Then, reconfigure the anterior matrix to comply with FCC code 98869a-b subparagraph 4002. Once this is done you need to rotate the machine's bicipherous carbadingulator counterclockwise. Try setting up for domain users again, it should work this time. No need to thank me.

Wireless Network guru's:

I want to share my cable internet computer in the livingroom with a computer in my bedroom. I was pondering WiFi 802.11b network by either DLink, Linksys or Microsoft using a router that will act as a base station. I was wondering how the walls in my house will affect network performance (the signal has to travel through quite a few). I want to get around 5 Mbps, just enough so I can surf and post here I just want to know if anyone has had any experience with WiFi. I don't really want to drill holes into walls to install a traditional 10/100 ethernet network. Hmmm maybe I should post this on [H]ardforums instead.

...on the bridge of the enterprise...

Picard: Make it so. Engage Citrix Warp Drive, Ensign!

Wesley: Captain, it's not working!

Picard: Why on earth not, Mr. Crusha?

Wesley: The Borg have us in their tractor beam!

Picard: On screen!

A large, rectangular-shaped black ship approaches

Picard: That's not the Borg, Wesley! See if you can get a match on that ship!

...a couple of moments pass...

Wesley: Captain, it appears the enemy ship is modeled identically after a well-designed, poorly executed video game console from the early 21st century called the "Xbox."

Picard: Not THE Xbox, the one designed by...

all, ominously: Microsoft.

Deanna Troi: Microsoft is worse than the Borg! They have no heart, no compassion. They were exiled to planet X in the late 29th century, but they flourished in its barren frozen atmosphere and created an army of boring droid hackers with glasses!

Wesley: Yes, them! And it appears they have fighter support!

Two fighter ships modeled after Xbox remote controls fly up on either side of the enterprise. The glowing green "x" jewel on the top of each ship pierces through the blackness of space. A copyright symbol is clearly visible on each wing.

Worf: Sir, they're hailing us!

Picard: Open a channel.

Bill Gates droid: All your base are belong to us. You have no chance to survive make your time. All your third party routines and applications crash in our presence. We are strong and omnipotent. Surrender now or face the fate of Thomas Penfield Jackson.

Picard: There must be something we can do, some negotia...

Bill Gates droid: There is no negotiation. You will give us all your technology. We will break it and make our own version. You will never run your warp drive program successfully again. Resistance is futile; we are corrupting your databanks right now.

Picard: Mr. Crusha, get us out of here, full impulse!

Wesley: Sir, the ship's not responding! All I see is this blue screen that says "Fatal Error."

all, frustrated: FUCKING MICROSOFT!

haha the end.

yeah, I'm curious security too. I'm scared my neighbour is going to steal my internet. *edit: thanks for the link.

Aaron: I wish I could take advantage of deals like that. Somehow Canadians have been a little slow with e-business. Dell.ca doesn't have 1/2 of the stackable deals you can get on the US site. If they did I would have a 8200 by now with a Radeon m9000

If I still have games on those big floppy disks that I still want to play, how can I play them now, or do I need to find a new game to play?
