Remember, your DSL/Cable modem is usually capped off at 1.5 Mbps, so its your broadband thats the bottleneck.

ok..I have a 466mhz G4 Mac with the cd burner that came with the machine.

My G4 freezes whenever I put in audio cd-r's that were burned on a pc. I've tested this various times and it's not all data cd's but audio cd's. What gives?

Also, we have dsl and a wireless router setup..i have the airport card in the mac. The roomate has a pc with xp and another pc with win98.

It's a linksys wireless router. Whenever we put the firewall setup on the router I have to type in the password to access the router whenever I restart the G4....this sucks cuz it's a 16 character password...a bunch of random numbers and letters...not easy to memorize. Is there a way for me to tell have the G4 save the network password? My roomie doesn't have to type in the network password whenever he reboots his pc.

os 9.2.2
thanks!

what resolution are you using when you connect to your tv? i've heard that most television can only handle 640x480. or something in that range.
thanks. but thats the problem. its the nvidia drivers which screws up my tv out. it actually displays.. its just black and white and my settings dont detect im using a tv as a display.

yeah 680 x 480 is the max a tv can display. thats why all videogames are produced in 640 x 480 although they look alot better than that.

thanks for the download.com url.. i havnt been really trying to fix it. its just been in the back of my head for a while and when i found the asus drivers page was down (the only drivers ive gotten tv out to work with) i gave up. thanks anyhow

soo....about this broken monitor that i have...

care to open up the front bezel, and poke around? i'm hoping it's just a misaligned button, but don't know too much about monitor hardware. how much trouble could one get into by popping it off?

i read somewhere that tvtool might be able to help you.

as for max res on a tv...isn't native resolution on a tv actually less taht 640 x 480...something closer to 400x525?

Ok, let me break it down.

I have a Mac G3, running 9.0, using AOL (yea I know).

Why is it that when I attach a photo in an email it automatically stuffs it?
Even if the image I'm sending is only 25K or something? I've tried sending images to friends
and they always write back and say they can't open it.

Most of these images were scanned in, or downloaded from my digicam and then cropped
in photoshop. I also save them as jpgs

Help!
Thanks

what does this script do?

<SCRIPT language=JavaScript>
var message="Get A Free Search Engine Ranking Report.\n";
function click(e) {
if (document.all) {
if (event.button == 2) {
alert(message);
return false;
}
}
if (document.layers) {
if (e.which == 3) {
alert(message);
return false;
}
}
}
if (document.layers) {
document.captureEvents(Event.MOUSEDOWN);
}
document.onmousedown=click;

</SCRIPT>

From http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/h...392670,00.html

Excerpt:

Go inside

Think it's something inside the monitor's case? Go to a pro. Don't go inside your monitor yourself. You can hurt yourself badly by discharging the anode. In normal-people speak, you can shock yourself to death if you touch the wrong spots inside a CRT or TV. Take it to a shop with monitor repair experience.

That was one of the biggest concerns with the iMac when it first came out. You could literally shock yourself to death if you touched the wrong thing when you went in to upgrade memory or whatnot.

They recommended that you take it to an authorized Apple tech. Plus, you had to have some weird fangled driver to get the screws out.
