i never tried rainmeter. i downloaded it, read the documentation, and realized it was a lot of work to setup/configure. i know there are lots of pre-made themes out there, but you still have to tweak those a little. i think the Enigma theme is the most popular.

as far as i know, there's no limit to the trial. it will just nag you to buy a license every time you use it.

you can also try out 7zip..

Yeah, I was going to recommend 7zip, too. It's what I use and recommend to my users at work who need a program like that.

FF6 came out today.. and it automatically installed! i've been bamboozled! not a biggie, since it appears that my extensions are all still functioning. but just a heads up for everyone else.

FF prompted me to install.

I like it. It faster, and I like the tab group function.

In fact at the moment I've got GR, reddit, FB, and G+ in one tab group, and pornhub, spankwire, xvideos, youjizz, pornmvz, and tube8 in another tab group.

Change your update options to prompt you. I've been getting prompted to update but haven't yet.

yeah, strange thing is, i'm pretty sure i set it to prompt only. i think when you run the installer, it reverts the setting to auto-download/install next time around.

Hm... It's possible, I suppose. I'll have to keep an eye on that when I do eventually update to 6.0. For now, I keep hitting "later".

Okay, this one has been bugging me for a while:

I have had this spare HDD lying around. It's capacity is 120GB but Windows always shows that it only has 111GB free, even when it's been completely formatted.

I went to Windows's partition manager, and it's just got one partition; no second 9GB partition.

The HDD used to be in a PC, and that PC has crashed a few times, even been subject to some OS installs that have just frozen up resulting in hard resets. Could this be the cause of the missing 9GB?

it's the nature of the file system. i used to be able to explain this, but haven't done so in a while and forgot the exact reason. has something to do with the cluster sizes.

but essentially, the stated capacity on the hard drive will not match the actual capacity after it's been formatted.
