My mom just gave me a little cube of what I later learned to be pork fat.
It tasted sweet and there was a nice crust outside of it like a little piece of caramel candy or something. I don't think this is a snack that you eat on your couch by the handfuls.

This is how we throw down at my house at 4:30AM after the bars close...
  Seared ahi with nori no tsukudani, sauteed chicken and shrimp, rice and noodles, Lao cucumber salad, my roommate's signature awesome ginger sauce, eggs, and some Hawaiian-esque avocado/nori/mayo/sriracha finger food thing I made.
