this right? Cool manga though eh?
Yes, the one and the same! I liked it but i think i'm a little burned out on the psychic/telekinetic manga. Have you read a short by the name of "Shuffle" by OTOMO? I saw a short film adaptation of it by ISHII Sogo last weekend and was curious if it happened to be any good...

I want the Ping Pong DVD!! I haven't read the manga but I have read Tekkin concrete and GoGo Monster by the same author.
I just got through the manga and the movie's so good, too. Our dvd's been perpetually loaned out since we got our fill. I can't believe what a good adaptation it was. I think this is the only comic book movie I ever liked. Period.

Do you like Umezu Kazuo? [Hyouryuu Kyoshitsu] 'drifting classroom'? is awesome.
You know, everyone tells me to check him out but I keep getting sidetracked.
I was into ITO Junji's short story manga but not too into Tomie and Uzumaki would have enthralled me with some installments and then other times would be like "Jesus, burn the fucking town down already." Right now, I'm into YAMAMOTO Takato after seeing his work in AX manga anthology.

What are you reading now? a good friend of mine is leaving in two weeks for Nihon and is waiting for my shopping list

Memeishi - David Mack's Kabuki is amazing. The guy is so talented it is sickening and he draws people in realistic proportions too. How one guy can move from pen and ink to watercolours to CG art so seamlessly is mind boggling too. Rick Mays who draws the Scarab series is damn good oo.
Kabuki rules, it's some visionary type stuff. Rick Mays work is just so clean and tight...

back to my Blade of the Immortal ranting...just saw the latest issue, it just keeps getting better.

I'm wondering where the hell Rin is, though...

Lol - When I was reading the new Blade I was wondering what you were making of it.

Damn, Magatsu is tough. 3 issues of almost non-stop fighting and I hate when each issue ends. C'mon Magatsu, finish that psycho - you gotta do it for O-Ren!

I have this horrible feeling that Magatsu is going to die by the time it's all over. He's been cut up pretty good...and I also have this feeling that somehow Shira is going to live, I just can't imagine that they'd not have Shira and Manji go head to head at some point. They've had crazy tension since the first time they met, especially the issues when Rin was still around.

I hate to say it but I think you are right. Magatsu got stabbed through by Manji when they first tangled but this time he's really been hacked up. I guess he is happy to die if he can avenge O-Ren as that's why he left the Itto-ryu. Shira has to go down hard. He owes big time for O-Ren, Hyajurin, Shinriji and that woman he butchered when he was with Rin.

Heh - we probably ought to head up these posts "SPOILER"

well, no one seems to be commenting on anything we say, as far as I can tell we are the only two people on these boards that read Blade of the Immortal.

Imagine if Shira still had two hands...he might have been the baddest of them all at that point. I always wondered what Geichi thought of Shira, Geichi seems pretty noble.

If Magatsu is doomed then the opnly thing cooler than Manji taking Shira down would be Giichi doing it. The noble, quietly spoken Giichi versus the psychotic, despicable Shira.

Shira knows Giichi is dangerous. Remember how he asked Hyakurin if Giichi was around before he turned them in to the Itto-ryu.

And where's Anotsu? I wonder if he's going to marry that girl at the sword school in the mountains?

I'll bet Anotsu doesn't marry that girl, or if he does it will be only for political reasons. Although, she did make an excellent case for herself.

Geichii VS Shira would be the best thing ever. Jeezus I love this comic, I almost want to try and get all the Japanese issues just so I can see what happens.

Yeah I love this book too. One of the reasons it always comes out on time is that the Japanese version is something like 2 years ahead so Dark Horse aren't waiting for ages for new material. The other plus point here is that we've still got 2 years of story to look forward to and it keeps gettng better and better.

No-one draws hands and feet better than Samura. I hear his phone card art is a little disturbing though.

my friend is collecting the new shirow but i heard him say tonight that he wasn't going to read them until he had them all. otakugeek!

i saw animatrix last night at a local multiplex.
it was particularly cool. also, i didn't realise they were going to do a theatrical release. maybe this was just an austalian thing as the only mentions of it i can find are on aus sites. maybe a test marketing thing. anyway, if it comes near you, see it...it was well worth it to see it on a big screen.

my favourite story was this "Beyond" by Koji Morimoto
