Hipsters stunned as vintage cameras fail to make them professional photographers

^ I'm no hipster, but man, I sort of rely on hipstamatic too much to make shots interesting. I use the most subtle combination, I think, but it still does something to the colors and contrast that makes it look so much better than iphone's regular camera.

I'm in Instagram's fold myself. My phone being my primary shooter, which is becoming more and more of a thing these days.

^ I took my dslr to Thailand, but whenever I was about to go somewhere, I did the math, if it was really worth lugging the dslr around when the iPhone took perfectly acceptable pictures. That Canon spent a lot of time inside various hotel safes.

At one point, after using the iPhone for days, I did shoot a few things with my friend's 7D, and the difference in image quality was almost shocking. But, still, since I carry my phone around everywhere, I consider the camera to be nothing. I have to carry around nothing to shoot photos and video.

Is there a website where they explain how pros achieve their photos?

Like this one? Or like the black and white portraits they have in Vanity Fair sometimes, where the black and white is so rich looking they almost look like molten metals. Huh?

i haven't seen any specific sites for that. usually if a photography site has a forum, you can ask and people will offer their thoughts on how the photo was achieved.

in other news..
who wants to be Taylor Swift's personal photographer for the day?
