Thunder Soul - 9
It's one of the best music-related documentaries I've ever seen. I didn't realize until seeing this that I've heard the Kashmere Stage Band's music before, thanks to DJ Shadow's samples. The music they played was so hard to believe coming from a group of high school students hailing from Houston.

Loved this movie! I bought the CD compilation as soon as I got home.

Spiderman - 8.5

I was never really blown away by the Tobey Spiderman movies. I thought 2 and 3 sucked. This blows all three of those movies away. Better Peter Parker, better villain, I was never bored. I think I liked it more than Avengers. Yeah, pretty sure I did.

I remember seeing the trailer to this movie right before the A Tribe Called Qwest documentary in the theater. I forgot the title so it slipped my mind. Fast forward to last Saturday when my brother pointed out the Kashmere Stage Band compilation at the record store. That's when I remembered the documentary. We had to check out any place we could to find the DVD.

Moonrise Kingdom - 8

I like the way that the normal conventions of storytelling in a war picture was repurposed for a scout-hiding-in-the-woods-with-his-girl narrative. Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola wrote a commendable story.

I really enjoyed the story and the composition of Wes Anderson's shots. He sets em up like how I'd take a picture. Also, the little kids were super cute and perfect for the roles.

I had a small Tsai Ming-liang film fest going on. It was an overwhelming experience.

The lil girl in the movie was awesome. I have a feeling this movie will win some major awards.

I'll give Lockout a 6.

It was decent. Guy Pearce's wise ass cracks saved it for me. Glad I redboxed it.

It's good, but can't top the second installment to the Nolan series.
