Ouch. In my defense I really liked that French film The Pink Panther. That detective was really funny. I wish I spoke French.

^Ha. I contemplated stealing a copy from a friend while he was drunk once.

My friend designed a Criterion package and it is now on the shelves. It has to do with basketball... hint hint.

Just looked at Criterion's catalog. Recently rented "Crazed Fruit." Among many other things, I really liked Donald Richie's commentary. Good introductory explanation of Tokyo's current Govern-nator's history. (He (Ishihara) wrote the story.) And there is one particular men's swimming suit "ensemble" among the costumes that is not to be missed. I remember those things from around 1956. Men actually did wear them, though no one living today would believe it.

Also noticed that "The Aquatic Life With Steve Zissou" is now in their catalog. Could this be a new industry descriptor? "Straight to Criterion"?

I dig your "I hope you're getting this down," too.

Actually, I thought "direct to Criterion" would be complimentary...
