The winner will depend if its in the octagon or PRIDE arena. But Vanderlei really wanted redemption with Vitor. BTW he opened a CHUTE BOX Academy in Beverly Hills. Planning on checking it out. If I don't join the San Diego Fight Club Gym.

I havent heard any news about Vanderlei looking for a rematch with Vitor. I do remember him saying that he doesnt think Vitor is worthy of a match because he has nothing to offer (ie - a belt).

About Randy/Vanderlei, dont forget that in Pride, Randy would be able to use knees on the ground and elbows, which he cant in the UFC.

i was watching the pride grand prix which happened several months back. this was the japanese version from someone's cable tv. second round of the grand prix too.

funkiest shit was when they called randleman "donkey kong". i thought it was some kind of commercial at first. its all in japanese but they slipped in "donkey kong" every once in awhile. they showed an animation picture of a barrel then a bunch of bananas. then randleman. his fight started right after that. they kept referring him as donkey kong throughout the match.

it was goofy because randleman does hop around like donkey kong. but it is really f*cked up on the racial side of the issue. i doubt if that stuff will ever make it on the american version of that tournament.

- i wont say it doesnt have anything to do with the "racial side" but Pride is also an entertainment spectacle. They have mismatches all the time, they have pro-wrestlers do real fights (and get their asses smashed).

In that Randleman fight, Saku came out as Mario (w/mustache and outfit, graphics and music and all). But Sak does come out in an outfit or mask most of the time.

The thing about Randleman, and again, I aint saying it doesnt have to do with the racism in Japan too but take a look at Randleman's build. They wouldnt call him that if he was 6'8" and 150lbs. The guy IS built like a gorilla.

The jumping thing is his trademark and he's got an amazing vertical. I think they used to call him the kangaroo in college.

Anyhow, Sak tapped Randleman out that fight and Randleman went on to shock the world and KO'ed Crocop but got tapped out to Ron Waterman after that (hence the wildly inconsistent but occassionally explosive efforts of Kevin Randleman).

the randleman fight against sak was round one of the grand prix. this was the second round and sak had a rematch against the elvis dude.

i don't think randleman knew the donkey kong thing was going on. i doubt if he would agree to it.

Neither Randleman vs. Sak or Sak/Nino Schrembri II were of any of the Grand Prixs round matches, actually.

Randleman fought Crocop in round 1 of the HW GP, Sak fought Silva in the first round of the MW GP.

I cant remember whether or not they had the Donkey Kong thing in Randleman's match against CC but Sak def. came out as Mario against Randleman.

Regardless of when, though, I guess you think its pretty fucked up and I also agree somewhat. It would be interesting to see what Randleman thought of that or if he knew. He is a very outspoken individual...

the randleman fight was against fedor. it was a grand prix but i don't know if that specific fight was. the video i saw was all in japanese. its listed as pride "critical countdown" on sherdog but also "critical countdown grand prix" on pridefc.com.

Yes, he was in the audience during the Couture/Belfort fight and Dana White and DSE were planning on making the fight happen between Vanderlei and the winner of that fight. But Silva actually wanted a rematch with Belfort because of the 36 second knockout.

Also, I don't think Randleman cares about being called "Donkey Kong" The Japanese meant as an insult and disrespect and Kevin just didn't give a sh*t. He is getting paid well. Pride takes care of their fighters, unlike UFC. He probably makes more than the Randy Couture at this moment especially after knocking out Crocop and hanging with big boy Fedor.

Ah, ya, Randleman vs. Fedor was round 2 of the HW GP. Randleman came out and dumped Fedor practically on his head with a monstrous front to back slam but Fedor shook it off and tapped Randleman in like 30 secs after.

Randleman's dad actually passed away before that fight.

I was actually wondering if THEY have ever written anything on Saku, MMA or BJJ/the Gracies, homes I just mention Sudo because they have had Enson Inoue and if you've seen Sudo, you knows he's strait up GR.
