I'm watching Frontline. It's a side by side profile of Kerry and Bush. Damn. My respect for Kerry is growing. I primarily saw him as not being Bush but watching footage of him as a young man decrying the Vietnam war is inspiring.
Bush and Kerry both had serious uni-brow action going on back then.

Family Guy. I resisted this show when it first came out. I thought to myself "why bother? It can't be as good as The Simpsons."
Well, in some ways it's funnier than The Simpsons. In other ways, it's not. You can tell they've stolen a lot of stuff from The Simpsons and, also, The Critic. So many of their jokes are lifted directly from The Simpsons with only the slightest variation. It's very derivative. The Simpsons is original and it's funnier in many ways because its humor is so unexpected and unlike anything else. The Family Guy is funnier sometimes because it's humor is more lower brow, which I like, but aside from that it's nothing you haven't seen before. Just taken further. Yea.

Kate Winslett on SNL. I hope it's good.
I always thought she had one of the prettiest faces in the world. She's a bit older now. Still cute.

I'm watching a show on Discovery Times about the French Foreign Legion. General Norman S. was made an honorary member after the first Gulf War. During the induction ceremony he was given a card -- and you have to imagine him telling this story -- and on it it said "if you get in trouble anywhere in the world, call this number and we'll come to your aid."
Seriously, I got chills. Fucking chills, man. Man I'd like to get a card like that.

The Godfather is on television. A Better Tomorrow was on yesterday night. This is broadcast television, mind you.

I'm watching a show about the blackout of 2003. I spent the whole night on the roof of my apartment in Astoria. My ex-gf and I slept beneath the stars. I was sweating my ass off.

Terror's Children. Another documentary from Discovery Times, this one about Afghan refugee children trying to survive in Pakistan. It's devastating. This world we live in is a very fucked up place. But it's another day in paradise for us.

Nova on PBS
This episode tells the story of a group of POWs that tunnelled their way out of a Nazi prisoner camp. Really interesting.
