Anthony seemed pretty annoyed by her spunkiness. She wasn't the best of travel guides either.

I liked Anthony getting in the ring with Miguel Cotto in PR...Cotto looks like he could crush 10 effete, chain-smoking faux-French chefs...

She annoyed me, too.
I wanted to see Bourdain pick at fight with a guard at the DMZ.

i only caught the last 20 min of the korea episode, but i thought that girl was cute. i liked the part during the closing credits when she was lugging that vat of kimchi up the hill and she said "good thing i like kimchi!"

I thought she was cute too. Her spunky personality contrasted Bourdain's cynical personality, but I thought they complemented each other nicely. The pork barbeque at the spa looked delicious and some of the broths they had looked so mouth-watering. I'm thinking of hitting some of the Korean joints here in Fort Lee after work.

I've only been to this one and it was pretty good for barbeque. I usually don't eat Korean food but on the occasions I have, I ate in Korea Town in NYC. I used to eat at Hanbat all the time when I worked close to Midtown and I definitely recommend that place. But Palisades and Fort Lee seem to have a large Korean population so there's quite a few restaurants that I want to try. I found this article about the rise of Korean restaurants in the Northern New Jersey area.

This basically sums up my feelings. Worst guide yet. |

this made me chuckle:
What would have really livened up this episode is if Tony and Nari had slept together in the end. (There were times when she looked as if she wouldn't have minded.) Maybe if the cameras weren't there.... But I'm sure Bordain doesn't want to take his "sleazy old guy" onscreen image too far. also, didn't bourdain go to korea in another episode from last year or something? i remember him going to some little joint in seoul and getting dog meat to go. anyone else remember that?

that was one of the best eps imo. Mainly because his guide was disconnected from her homeland and was quite eager to reconnect herself. The contrast in personalities really did it for me. Plus unlike most guides on the shows, she understood most of Bourdain's inane pop cultural references and humour.
That "west side story" part was funny.......and I've been meaning to try the live ocotpus tentacles for a good while. This reaffirms that desire. Her grandpa's story was one of the best moments of the show's entire run. It really touched my heart.

I thought Nari was adorable, but she was so enthusiastic she kept Tony from being his usual sarcastic self. He faded into the background.
