Watched the Biker Buildoff marathon yesterday on Discovery Channel and was floored by Shinya Kimura's old school bike. Kimura seems like a really humble guy and I like the fact that he gets to know each future owner by learning about their lifestyle, music preferences, job and even city they live in.

The website has got some killer bikes but can a 5'10" skinny guy pull it off? I don't think I'm badass enough.

I think those build off shows appeal more to the new chopper crowd. Not dissing any of that stuff but I would look truly ridiculous on that machinery. Think Shaggy on a 70's Scooby Doo episode and you're not far off. Not that I could afford a Zero machine either but I've got choppers on the brain today.

i think anyone can pull off an old school chopper. it's those stretched out ones that are *iffy*, add the crappy ass neon paint jobs to accentuate the abnormality?

Yeah, I'm imagining myself on a 1941 HD. Pure fantasy here, what are we talking $20K?

i think it's going to be a bit more than that, yo. but anything on the level of a car is too much as far as i'm concerned.

Oh yeah, I meant $50k, hell the thing's completely hand built. I need to start looking for a late 60's Honda, Kawasaki. Something more in my price range.

Yeah, I watched that shit yesterday. Shinya's bike was cool. Out of all the builders I've seen on those shows, I've always really liked Mitchell's bikes. If I had a shit load of cash to dump on something like a chopper, I'd probably try to get him to build it.

RIDE O DIE

1982 honda hawk cb450T for 400 bucks.
Can't beat that price.
But you know, I've bought a bike for under 500 bucks before, and it was ... cursed.
