The T-Shirt thread (just bought, have, saw, whatever)...

I just got an "I Love Philippines" shirt from Urban Outfitters.

It's not one of the random vintage shirts that they've been stocking up on...it's a new shirt because they said they had a stack of them earlier.

It's not available online.

I bought the last one since San Diego has a bunch of Pinoys...

just bought this "punk vs disco" tee from turntablelab. even though I hate the quality of 2k tees I had to buy this for the graphic alone.

Hey!...I got that shirt at the last San Diego Comic Con.

Maybe I'll sport it this week but I put it away because I got it a size too big.

really? why?

mine fits and feels great.

the sleeves are a little weird sometimes,

they tend to come to a point and flare out.

i've got a couple of older 2k tees and they use american apparrel for their stock. american apparrel is too lightweight & flimsy and prone to significant shrinkage. i'm assuming they still use AA stock; I wound up ordering a size larger than what I usually wear just in case.

Thats the reason i don't use AA tess. Too lightweight, flimsy and prone to shrinkage. (though most fabrics are prone to shrinkage, AA really loses its shape.)

But people are allways asking me... "Why dont you use AA?" I think ive lost a few sales because i use Hanes 50/50 and fruit of the loom instead.

Im basing my opinion on AA shirts ive purchased in 2003. The quality might be diffrent now.

i really like american apparel shirts. they usually fit me so well that i deliberately seek them out and prefer them. i like how light they are, they don't just hang on you like some shirts, they *fit*. i just got a shirt at a caribou show the other week that was printed on an aa shirt and it fits me just how i like it. that's just my preference though. although just today i read some off-putting stuff about their founder / ceo. it's old news but it's new to me.

Don't worry about him...I've worked directly with some of the people there and they're very cool.

A Korean girl in customer service was very helpful in getting special shirts produced for my line and a friendly Filipino woman ran the customer service in the warehouse.

This was two years ago so I don't know how it is now, but their workers are generally good.

Oh...and they listen. One of the designers, who models the shirts in the catalog, usually asks our opinion on new cuts whenevere we're there (main office).
