Yeah, I bought some international texts. 200. But incoming doesn't count. So far I've made about 4 texts. The data thing was more useful. We're using Facebook messenger so I almost don't need the texts.

Just maxed out the ram in my MBP to 16gb, its now blazing. Now only if SSD 's would really drop in price.

Its weird how Apple says its max ram is 8gb when everybody else says its 16 as long as you buy quality ram?

My first major problem with a Mac computer?

I just got home from Thailand today. Was busy transferring footage from my lap top to my desk top/Mac Pro. Everything is fine. Get up from a nap, start working again, was returning an email, and boom, the computer went out instantly like there was a power outage.

I tried turning it back on and I see a bright red light inside the front grated panel, and the fan is running top speed. After googling around, I'm thinking it's a diagnostic light indicating my CPU is dead.

I'll take a better picture later. The left is the front. Thoughts?

Yeah, I think I need a surge protecting backup battery. The guy at Noho Mac thought it might be a power issue. Hope it costs less than 200 bucks to fix.

I'd get a second opinion before I let them work on it. First it's just a power issue. But then you get a call and they say, you need a new alternator, then timing chain, then accessory pump.

^ The place got rave reviews on Yelp, so I'm hoping they won't bone me. When I was googling around, I was under the impression the logic board was fried. That's kind of what I'm expecting them to say.
