Ugh, I feel like I'm partially responsible for Oscar Peterson's death. I bought a 10" record about ten hours before the man died, and my purchases have been the kiss of death for a number of bands and musicians. RIP to a piano genius.

just caught this when i woke up. this is really fucked. good bet martial law is going to be on after the 3 days of mourning.
i didn't agree with her on all counts but she was a patriot for coming back to the country she believed in, even after years of death threats. she was a champion of democracy and a feisty debater, Pakistan has lost someone that could've eased out of this suicidal stand off.

Stu Nahan, a onetime minor-league hockey goalie who delivered sports reports on Los Angeles television and radio for decades, has died. He was 81.

Nahan died Wednesday at his Studio City home, after battling lymphoma, a form of cancer, since January, his family said.

I have bittersweet memories of that exact set. They had a setting so that the number would stay on the picture at all times and my mother had it on just so she knew what channel she was on. I absolutely hated it and whenever I played games on the set I couldn't turn it off or she would get pissed.
