The propaganda will only tell you what you're supposed to think about. Temperature time-lines that only extend back a hundred years for example.

I do not like the petroeum system any more than you.
I do not have a car. I do not purchase things unless I have to. I'm hoping to start a local farm soon. Then I won't have to rely on the petrol-using grocery stores.

I'm sixteen again and staying up all night to hear about solar flares, pole shifts and critters in space.
If any of this is true it's distressing. For now I'm looking at it as a convincingly realistic story. But no, really, that thing about solar ejecta, magnetic flips and moving crusts doesn't sound nice. I hope that's all fiction.
