That trailer makes it look like the movie retained elements of the Shadow 19 sript.

If not, this could explain the premise for Prometheus (which has a quote from Ridley and Cameron) : http://avp.wikia.com/wiki/Space_Jockey Last edited by pkittie; 12-24-2011 at 09:39 AM. |

^The whole franchise is out of control.
People came up with all sorts of B.S. about the Space Jockey. Giger certainly had no backstory. He just made another penis sculpture. Hopefully Scott wiped the slate clean and started from scratch. That's really best, I think. But then I don't really care. If it's a good movie - great. If not I won't lose any sleep over it.

Yes and no.
It's supposed to be super artful [read: masturbatory] and be set within the same universe. You will not see the classic 'alien' [xenomorph is what nerds call them]. Instead you'll see a space jockey. One of the creators of the hit show 'Lost' was part of the production.

I'm surprised no one mentioned this. A fictional TED talk from TED 2023 that's part of Prometheus:
http://blog.ted.com/TED2023/ Interview with screenwriter Damon Lindelof regarding this http://blog.ted.com/2012/02/28/writi...amon-lindelof/

^Ugh. I love TED and I'm interested in the movie, but that just made me throw up in my mouth a little.
The idea that someone at TED gave the "okay" to allow the producers to use the TED brand to hock this movie is sickening to me.

Working with one of the actors (not first billed), we asked, he was pretty mum on the subject, but said it was going to be amazing.
