for oakland, it all depends on where you're at. in some areas, the change from an ok neighborhood to the "ghetto" can be as drastic as a one block difference.

i live by the lake. the neighborhood's pretty nice. locals are all nice. we get a small farmers market on saturdays (hooray for donnas vegetarian tamales!) good local eats....everything's basically in walking distance...rent's not bad...

lake meritt is nice.
i live in the bad part of oakland.
but it's cheap and i'm lulled to sleep every night by the soothing sounds of gunshots and ghetto birds.

true. it's always a little daunting meeting new people-- especially when considering the circumstances. just take a paxil and i'm sure it'll be alright.

Uhh...Thanks.
I don't do paxil. I'm not crying and isht if that's what you're implying...
relax, champ, the paxil reference was in jest. the circumstances i speak of is in reference to the fact that it might be a little nerve-wracking meeting new people in which the only previous contact with those people are through a message board, over the internet.

nothin else...

I've never been to Queens, but from what's seen from "Coming to America", Oakland is almost there. You want to avoid East Oakland and parts of West Oakland. the Oakland Hills and the Rockridge area are nice. Rich ppl live up there. Also the area near Lake Merrit is nice and relatively safe.

Daly City is south of SF. It's cool. A large population of filipinos, so if you're looking filipino cuisine D-city is where it's at.

well, you know I was thinking we should all meet at the Cherry Blossom. That way if we discover that we can't stand each other, then we can go our separate ways and ignore each other when we pass each other.
