WHO CAN PULL A DC-10 AIRPLANE FASTER -- A TEAM OF LITTLE PEOPLE OR AN ELEPHANT?
FIND OUT WHEN FOX AIRS 'MAN VS. BEAST' WEDNESDAY, JAN. 15

Carl Lewis and Michael Buffer to Serve as Commentators

Man meets his ultimate competitor in the all-new one-hour special MAN VS. BEAST airing Wednesday, Jan. 15 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Human participants go head to head against beasts in a series of competitions testing a variety of disciplines. Steve Santagati ("Looking For Love: Bachelorettes In Alaska") will serve as host.

A contest of brute strength takes us to the Mojave Desert where 44 little people compete against an 8800-pound elephant in a foot race to see who can pull a DC-10 airplane a distance of 75 feet in the shortest amount of time.

During another face off, world-class sprinter Shawn Crawford will race against a giraffe and a zebra in separate 100-meter races. Find out if this international track star from the United States has what it takes to win when they bolt from behind the gates of a professional horseracing track. Nine-time Olympic gold medal champion Carl Lewis is trackside for this event.

Next, 132-pound Takeru Kobayashi, the world-record holder in hot dog eating (50 hot dogs in 12 minutes), enters the ring to try and out-eat a 1000-pound Kodiak bear. Boxing announcer Michael Buffer serves as ringside commentator.

In another event of physical endurance, representatives from the Army, Air Force, Marines and Navy compete against each other on a large military-style obstacle course. The winner will then compete against a chimpanzee in the same event to determine who is the best, man or beast.

Eric Schotz and Bill Paolantonio are executive producers for MAN VS. BEAST, which is being produced by LMNO Productions.

I feel bad for the bear, being exploited like that. Why does the bear repesent the USA? Shouldn't it represent the country of bears?

Word comes from the GR pop-up that Kobayashi lost bad. From the looks of that picture above, the bear won in 0.25 seconds.
