Giant Robot Hawaii 2016 at Ars-Cafe Diamond Head
Giant Robot Hawaii 2016 at Ars Cafe Diamond Head. You'll never complain about going to Hawaii, but to have an exhibition there is special. It's a rare occasion that's now two years in a row deep. Let's push for three next year. First the big thanks is to Lofa. For those of you who know him, then it's a repeat to hear that he's supportive to artists who visit Hawaii.
Ars Cafe is in the Diamond Head area which is mellow from the tourism and downtown area. The cafe itself faces Diamond Head and you can see the reflections on the hand painted sign window. The gallery space part of the cafe is clean and wholesome. The exhibition looks great in the space.
Luke Chueh created ten pieces, 5 paintings and 5 drawings and together, we drank a lot of great coffee. Ars Cafe actually has the coffee game right.
It was great to see familiar faces from just one year ago. People looked happy to be there and to see work that they enjoy. It's what we enjoy, so it's great to see that it works in Hawaii as well.
Special thanks to the artists:
Peter Chan, Maggie Chiang, Luke Chueh, David Horvath, Mari Inukai, Deth P. Sun, Katsuya Terada, and Yoskay Yamamoto
It's hard to come back to the mainland after a great exhibition. It'll be up on the wall until the end of the month. Visit the Ars Cafe.
