Air and Space II!

Air and Space II!

How can anyone ever get tired of seeing these? This is another Smithsonian spot. Air and Space Museum is amazing. I had an hour or less to kill, so why not just walk around in here. Although some of these have to be repros, many look definitely space tested. The history of our space travel is outlined here, but the bigger story is looking at how cheap some of this stuff looks. How could these have broken through the atmosphere? It seems impossible. I was looking for some kind of acknowledgement for Laika the dog, who although isn't American, perhaps should have been in this show. There were plenty of Russian space displays, but no Laika. If in DC, I'd definitely check this out.
