"Rabbit (in Blue)" by Luke Chueh for Giant Robot Day
A new piece, "Rabbit (in Blue)" by Luke Chueh. 18x24 and debuting at Giant Robot Day at Honolulu Museum of Art Spalding House Contempo #artshop The piece captures a mood of gloom, and is perhaps part of a small movement by Chueh that's away from his visual metaphors. They're simple portraits of his key players in emotional states.
"Seeing Red" is another piece debuting at Giant Robot Day. I've never seen one of his bear characters this angry.
Although Luke Chueh is capturing his characters in these moods, in person, he's often a supportive and charming star. Yes, we can all have moods, but can we capture them like Chueh can?
Also take a look at a sneak image of stickers being made by Lofa Lightsleepers, one of the most supportive beings in Hawaii. These are for the Luke Chueh meet and greet on Thursday and for Giant Robot Day on Saturday.
