Giant Robot Store and GR2 News

All this week we’ve been encouraging folks to bike the stores and make use of the brand new bike racks that were installed last weekend. The racks are free and were easily requested through the LA Department of Transportation.   More and more people are biking in Los Angeles, and not just to be part of a party ride, but to make the most of their time in traffic and explore their neighborhood (and new ones!) in a way that’s much more conducive to seeing what’s actually going on where you live. The Giant Robot stores on Sawtelle have lots of neighborhood regulars, so the bike racks have been getting lots of use! Mal is a neighbor who stopped in today and picked up some cool buttons from Future Colors of America (Aiyana Udesen, Matt Furie & Albert Reyes) and also tried his luck with the Busy Beaver Button Machine. Mal has rad sunglasses, a nice bike, and good taste in buttons! Come by today and tomorrow for the final days of our Ride Your Bike sale and get 25% off your purchase at Giant Robot or GR2. Be like Mal!

Welcome Bike Racks to GR stores! (both of the shops have a metal loop so you can lock  your bike). They’re installed by the city at our request and now you can contribute to a better planet. By doing this, we’re letting you save as well. The sale starts tomorrow. Take 25% off. Read the dates! Same restrictions apply. No art, no sale items. Please don’t drive, park, take your bikes out of the trunk and fake ride. We’ll point you out! Wear a helmet! We’ll have a few more perks by way of snacks for you riders.

Every cat has a story.

This cat is just pretty. 3 years old and pretty small at guessing 7 or 8 lbs.

The Odd Couple. That’s a female orange cat. Usually they’re male. On the right, that’s Boo Boo. She’s 13 and has an “old face” and great character. It’s funny, the orange is the largest and Boo Boo is oldest, but somehow they’re best friends. Be part of a cats story and adopt one when you can.

Yes, on the tragic anniversary one decade ago, we’ve teamed up with Animal Services in West LA to help find homes for cats and kittens. It was a little over two years ago that I adopted a kitten. I’m a dog person, and realizing that it was impossible for me to care for a dog correctly, I decided to try out a cat. It sounds ominous to just try a live animal, but with the support around me, I was sure it would work. Soon, one became two. I can now say I’m both a dog and cat person and surely, my cats have a much greater life than before. This sunday, this is your chance, take in a cat! I adopted the one on the right.
