A beautiful compilation of photographs capturing public telephone boxes, which are rendered as still standing time markers.
From the publisher:
"In "Phone Book," Tatsu's lens captures the essence of time's passage through portraits of public phones. Each image evokes nostalgia for a bygone era while prompting reflection on the impact of technological progress. Through Tatsu's artistry, these relics become symbols of human connection, inviting viewers to ponder what we've gained and lost in the evolution of communication."

An all-new, complete 35th anniversary hardcover box set of one of the most acclaimed and influential comics of all time, with the original Japanese art and right-to-left reading format for the first time! The science fiction epic that changed anime and manga forever is presented in six beautiful hardcover volumes, plus the hardcover Akira Club art book and an exclusive patch with the iconic pill design.
In 1982, Kodansha published the first chapter of Akira, a dystopian saga set in Neo-Tokyo, a city recovering from thermonuclear attack where the streets have been ceded to motorcycle gangs and the rich and powerful run dangerous experiments on destructive, supernatural powers that they cannot control. In 1988, the manga was adapted into what was at the time the most expensive animated film ever made, which brought Akira's influence out of the manga world and onto the global stage. Today, it remains a touchstone for artists, writers, filmmakers, and fans, retaining all the brutal impact and narrative intensity it had when Otomo first unleashed it onto the world.
Soft by Jane Mai
Paperback with dust jacket, 114 pages, measures 5.25 x 7.25 inches.
From publisher Peow:
Laura Leiha Deng befriends a mysterious and beautiful girl with sharp teeth named Carmilla, and slowly, something soft, delicate and rotten like white mold blooms between them.
A retelling of Carmilla, one of the the earliest pieces vampire literature ever written.
The director’s cut has an extended runtime of 114 pages (almost 30 more pages than the original book), with new art, previously deleted scenes, and refreshed dialogue. The first printing of soft was one of our final few Risograph books, and had the highest page count for a single book. It really pushed the limits of what we were able to bind, and would have been an extremely difficult book to reprint. Because of those production reasons, the book was not reprinted for many years, despite many people asking for it, and that is one of the authors favorites among their works. Now, 10-ish years later, we are very happy to have the chance to bring it back. We hope you like it too!
Heat by Jean Wei
Paperback, 116 pages, measures 6.25 x 9 inches.
From publisher Peow:
IT'S VERY VERY HOT
A naked 8-foot fire-demon crash-lands in your field one hot summer night: What do you do? Well, if you're Auntie Ann and her grand-niece, Katy, you take them in, clothe them, and put them to work on your farm without a break in your stride. But why is Red actually there? What's eating at Auntie Ann? And most pressingly, can a fire-demon cook and egg simply by holding it?
Peow would say this is a great book for people who enjoy Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley, but also want to have strong huge red demons on their farm and also glassblowing, more emotion, and really beautiful artwork.
Originally released in 2018, Heat is 116 pages, printed with three pantone spot colors, and a debossed cover, and was the first book Peow released working together with a guest editor, Zainab Akhtar.
One Week in January: New Paintings for an Old Diary by Carson Ellis
Hardcover, 80 pages, 7.8 x 9.3 inches.
Award-winning, beloved children's book author and illustrator Carson Ellis makes a stunning adult debut with an illustrated memoir that evocatively captures a specific cultural moment of the early 2000s and in her journey as an artist.
In January 2001, the young artist Carson Ellis moved into a warehouse in Portland, Oregon, with a group of fellow artists. For the first week she lived there, she kept a detailed diary full of dry observations, mordant wit, hijinks with friends (including her future husband, Decemberists frontman Colin Meloy), and turn-of-the-millennium cultural touchstones. Now, Ellis has richly illustrated this two-decade-old journal with extraordinary new paintings in the signature style that has made her an award-winning picture book author today.
This beautiful volume offers a snapshot of a bygone era, a meticulous re-creation of quotidian frustrations and small, meaningful moments, and a meditation on what it means both to start your journey as an artist and to look back at that beginning many years later.
