Feb 1, 2014 – Feb 19th, 2014 Reception Saturday Feb 1st, 2014 6:30-10pm Year of the Horse Exhibition It’s the Year of the Horse which officially takes place January 30th, but on saturday, Feb 1st, 2014, Giant Robot will celebrate Year of the Horse with a group exhibition featuring 50+ artists. Horses are a constant great subject in art, and this will be an interesting and fun exhibition. Hiroshi Hoketsu’s age continues to go up like everyone else, but his ability seems to be be the same. He competed in the 1964 Olympics! This isn’t a story about a man who at 71 will be the oldest Olympian, but the story about his dedication and partnership with his horse is as remarkable. His horse was ill, then recovered and they qualified for the Olympics. Talk about Rio in 2016 becomes another story. His horse, Whisper will be 19, and he doubts it would work out. I know there’s some of you who are wealthy. You have kids who are begging for a horse and you want to give them one. I’ve seen this happen. You can easily just go for the rare rides.
